Mui Fridays: 04
I’m gonna cut to the chase and tell you straight up, it was pizza night - and a very similar combo to our last pizza night. But better.
The Music
Michael ran to the shops to get some pork to slow cook overnight, so I was on dinner cooking duties while he was shopping. Any opportunity I get, I will listen to rock (why does it sound so lame to say I listen to rock? Rock n roll baby. But minus the roll. Speaking of rolls, do you prefer soft or crispy? I like soft).
Pre Dinner Drinks
Wine = yes, just for me cause Michael was shopping.
Shots = yes of course.
Photos = nope, sorry.
The Food
Pizza!
Pizza 1: tomato & hoisin base, Chinese five spice, cheese, spring onion & bacon
Pizza 2: tomato base, cheese, onion, cherry tomatoes, anchovies, ricotta, basil, kale (but pre-roast it with S&P and oil…mmmhm)
Dinner Drinks
I made this a couple of weeks ago and it’s a delicious riff on your standard gin & tonic. Recipe from drinksbyevie here.
I didn’t have cucumber so left it out. And I had some rosemary syrup from last time - recipe for that here. The rosemary syrup is very easy to make, and you should definitely make it. For an alcohol free version, literally just have some rosemary syrup with some mineral water or lemonade - it tastes like a Mediterranean Summer and keeps in the fridge for up to 1 month.
The Entertainment
I asked Michael to write this paragraph and I would scribe for him and this is what he said….
“We are watching the 150th Open Championship held at the home of golf, St Andrews. Marnie is a little pissy weak baby. Wait you’re actually typing word for word what I am saying? Say that you liked when Adam Scott was once 3 over for tourney but now he is 5 under after back to back to back birdies”
So yeah, when golf is on, we watch the golf.
